CREATIVE AFTER-SCHOOL STUDIO SESSIONS GIVING CHILDREN THE TIME AND FREEDOM TO EXPLORE, EXPERIMENT AND DEVELOP THEIR OWN IDEAS.
PAINT After School is designed for children in P1–P7 who enjoy being creative and want the opportunity to explore art beyond the school day.
These sessions provide the time and space to experiment with materials, follow ideas and discover different ways of making, while allowing children to work at their own pace.
At Paint Club Ayrshire, we don’t believe that every child should create the same artwork.
Instead of following step-by-step instructions towards a predetermined result, children are encouraged to make choices, investigate possibilities, solve problems and discover their own way of making art.
Every PAINT session is built around five simple ideas:
PLAY
Explore materials and ideas.
ASK
Be curious and ask questions.
IMAGINE
Develop ideas and think creatively.
NOTICE
Observe more carefully and discover new possibilities.
TRY
Experiment, take risks and see where your ideas take you.
WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT?
Every session is different, but activities may include:
- Painting
- Drawing
- Printmaking
- Mixed media
- Sculpture
- Collaborative projects
- Large-scale artwork
- Artist-inspired challenges
WHO IS IT FOR?
PAINT After School is designed for children in Primary 1–Primary 7.
The sessions are ideal for children who enjoy drawing, painting, making and experimenting, whether they are already passionate about art or simply enjoy having the freedom to create.
Children are encouraged to develop their own ideas and make creative decisions, with guidance and individual support available when they need it.
No previous experience is necessary.
